The Naval Museum is housed in part of a Modernista building that was constructed in the early 20th Century. Here you can see many models of ships and a collection of maps. One room is dedicated to Issac Peral who was born in Cartagena and invented the Peral submarine that was designed in 1884. Built in Cadiz, it was launched four years later and the original can be seen near Cartagena marina.
