O Barqueiro is a peaceful, beautiful fishing village with a small harbour in the Rio de Barqueiro. A walk along the peninsula, through eucalyptus forest, leads to the small port of Bares with its sandy beach. Beyond here is the Punto a Bares, the northermost point of Spain. There is a lighthouse and a signposted viewpoint called The Semaforo de Baras from where you can see the Isle of Coelleira on the opposite side of the estuary.
