The Ovando Palace was built in the early 16th Century for the prestigious Ovando family. It is in the Renaissance style and the building should have had two towers but only one was finished. Alterations took place in the 18th Century. On the facade are medallions showing figures of Hernando de Ovando and his wife as well as the coats of arms of the Ovando-Ulloa family. The building now houses a library and archives.
