The Royal Palace`s origins date back to the 16th Century when a palace was built for Felipe 11. The present structure of brick and white stone was built in the 18th Century with the side wings being added by Carlos 111. Guided tours take you through numerous rooms with different styles of furniture and paintings. Of special interest is the Porcelain Room with its scenes of Chinese life and a marble floor.
