Palafolls stands on the River Tordera near the Montnegre foothills. In the old part of the settlement is the Church of Sant Genis which has a Gothic nave, a square bell tower and a round watchtower. On a hilltop nearby stands Palafolls Castle which dates from the 12th Century. There are three enclosures and from the site are wonderful views over the area. The castle`s restored chapel can also be visited.
