The Palau de la Generalitat has been the seat of the Catalonian Government since the early 15th Century. On the Renaissance facade is a statue of St George - the region`s patron saint - and the Dragon. The building has a courtyard above street level. It has a Gothic orangery and a bell tower has been added. Inside are spendid halls with chandeliers and murals. The building is occasionally open to the public.
