The Sierras de la Parmera and Serrota are a beautiful area of mountains with high peaks rising to over 2000 metres. This is also the source of the rivers Correja, Adaja and the Alberche. There are fine woods of Pyrenean oak and areas of broom and juniper shrub as well as mountain pastures. The sierras are home to birds of prey such as the golden eagle. This is a good area for walking, mountaineering, cycling and horse-riding as well as hang-gliding.
