The Parque de Castelar is on the former site of the orchard that belonged to the Old Convent of San Domingo. It was designed in the early 20th Century by Alberto Merino de Torres and Jose Muniz Rodriguez. This lovely park has many exotic kinds of plants and in its centre is a pond, the home of ducks. Not far away is the Puerta de Palmas and the Rio Guadiana.
