In the middle of the Placa d` Espanya is a fountain by Josep Maria Jujol on the site of public gallows that were moved to Ciutadella in the early 18th Century. The sculptures are the work of Miquel Blay. Nearby is the 19th Century bullring and on the Montjuic side are two 150 feet high towers built for the entrance avenue at the time of the 1929 International Exhibition. Along the avenue are exhibition halls.
