The peaceful, shady Placa de Sant Felip Neri was once a medieval cemetery. During the Civil War, summary executions took place here after the fall of Barcelona. Located in the square, the 18th century baroque Church of Sant Felip Neri has bullet holes in the wall. A medieval shoemakers` guild was once located here. Today there is a Shoe Museum and amongst its interesting exhibits are Roman sandals and Columbus` shoes.
