Located close to La Rambla, Placa Reial is the most lively square in Barcelona. It was laid out in the mid 19th Century by Franesc Daniel Molina and its two tree like lampposts were Gaudi`s first commmissions in Barelona. The square was remodelled in 1981 by Federico Correa and Alfons Mila, and they transformed it into a pedestrian area. Around the square are neoclassical facades, palm trees, fountains, restaurants and bars.
