Plaza de la Tendillas is the main square of modern Cordoba. Here you will find fountains and an intriguing clock. There is a statue of Gonzalo Fernandez le Cordoba who fought for the Catholic Monarchs Isabel and Fernando in the last stage of the Reconquest as well as in Italy. Shopping streets lead off from the square and in nearby Calle Claudio Marcelo is a partly restored Roman temple.
