The Plaza de Santa Maria lies in the oldest part of Cazorla, an attractive town situated below the dramatic crag of Penn de los Halcones. On one side of the square is the ruined Church of Santa Maria which was built in the 16th Century by Andres de Vandelvira. It was wrecked by Napoleon`s troops and is now used for open air concerts. At the centre of the square stands a Renaissance fountain, the Fuente de las Cadenas.
