Ciudad Rodrigo is a delightful, old town with many ancient mansions inside its walls. Several can be seen around Plaza del Conde, including the Palacio de la Castros which was built in the late 15th Century. The palace boasts a long facade with fine windows and a Plateresque doorway with spiral columns and lions. Also in the square is the Palacio del Conde de Alba de Yeltes and the Palacio de Moctezuma, a cultural centre.
