Plaza Nueva was completed in the mid 19th Century and the square is known for its fine selection of bars and restaurants which can be found under the Neo-classical arches. On fine days there are tables outside. At one time there was a bandstand in the square but nowadays the centre is used is a Sunday flea market. Floral wreaths are sold here at Halloween for All Saints Day.
