Situated beside the River Tajo, the Prince`s Garden is a large park with monumental gateways. Landscaped by Boutelou in the 1760s for the future king, it was planted with a great variety of trees. During the 19th Century, Spanish botanist travellers brought back seeds from far away lands, creating in the park a pleasant mix of both Spanish and exotic trees. In the extensive park are walking trails and interesting buildings.
