The present Santuari de la Mare de Deu de Queralt stands on the top of a mountain. It was built in the 18th Century and above the sacristy is an image of the Virgin holding her son and a swallow. The statue is said to have been found by a shepherd when an ox knelt beside it. You can reach the foot of the sanctuary by foot or car and then take the funicular or climb stairs. Facilities include a bar and shop. A path that goes around the mountain offers superb views.
