The Aqueduct is a four mile long artificial water course built by the Romans in the 1st Century AD to bring a water supply to Almunecar. Part of it is underground but some sections are visible or still being excavated. The La Carrera Aqueduct is the closest to the town and can be viewed from the Carrer de la Concepcion. You can see 100 metres of aqueduct with several arches.
