Son Marroig was the property of the Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Florence who fell in love with Mallorca in the mid 19th Century. An early ecologist, he bought up estates to preserve them from development. Son Marroig comprises a house with period rooms, gardens and a headland. On display are some of the archduke`s books, paintings and also photographs of him. In the garden is a gazebo from where there are great views of the peninsula.
