The Museo del Monasterio de Santa Maria contains a collection of paintings by artists such as Ribera, Murillo, Cavagna and Mateo Cerezo. There are also carvings by Gregorio Fernandez and a 15th Century piece in alabaster. The museum contains many pieces of art from the 16th to the 19th Century as well as liturgical objects, ornaments and books. There is also a numismatic section containing thousands of medals and coins, including those that are Iberian, Punic, Roman, Visigothic and Chinese.
