The Sanctuary of San Andres de Teixdo is a chapel that was founded by the Knights of Malta. They brought a relic of Saint Andrew to this small hamlet from the Holy Land. A pilgrimage to the chapel takes place on the 8th of September every year. Many offerings are left at the chapel including models of fishing boats from those who are grateful for not losing their lives at sea.
