Sierra de Espadan Natural Park

The Sierra de Espadon Natural Park consists of the Espadan Mountain range, ravines, springs and cork oak woods. Cork is extracted from the trees during the summer. There are several peaks over 1000 metres high. The park is home to toads and newts. Amongst the species of birds that may be seen is the rare Bonelli`s eagle. Several species of bats inhabit the park. There is a network of long and short walking routes. Several villages give access to the park, including Almedijar and Eslida.
