Poble Espanyol was laid out for the 1929 International Exhibition on Montjuic as a life sized village illustrating the architecture of different areas of Spain. There are over 100 buildings arranged in streets and squares. Exploring the village, you will discover Castilian, Catalan, Andalusian and Galician buildings. A map can be obtained from the information office. The village is a popular attraction and it was refurbished for the 1992 Olympics on Montjuic. There are restaurants, bars and shops selling local crafts.
