The Cathedral of Santiago is mainly in the Gothic style and it was built at the end of the 14th Century on the site of an earlier church. St James was made Bilboa`s official patron saint in 1643 but the church did not become a cathedral until 1949. It has three naves and a delightful small cloister. The Neo-gothic tower and facade were completed in 1887.
