The Sierra de Guara is a fantastic area of gorges and small villages in the foothills of the Pyrennes. This thinly populated region has been a natural park since 1990. It is the most important area for canyoning in Spain and is very popular with those who indulge in the sport. There are over 200 canyons in the park and, although some can be easily walked, many require abseiling and water gear. The highest peak is Punton de Guara which rises to 2078 metres.
