The Museo Nacional del Teatro is in an 18th Century palace and houses a collection telling the history of the theatre in Spain. Materials are from the earliest period in Roman times up to the 20th Century and includes medieval theatre and Spanish folk opera. The collection displays period costumes and costume designs, and there are thousands of photographs, paintings, sculptures, models of theatre sets and various documents.
