The Plaza de la Espana is a small square in the centre of Baeza. Here stands the Torre de los Aliatares which remains from the time that the town was occupied by the Muslims. Almost all of the Moorish town`s fortifications were destroyed in 1476 by the Catholic Monarchs. The Paseo de la Constitucion with its many cafes links the square with the Plaza del Populo.
