The Puente Colgante is claimed to be the oldest transporter bridge in the world and it has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The bridge connects Portugalete and Las Arenas without blocking the River Nervion for shipping. Designed by the architect Alberto Palacio, it was opened in 1893. The service operates all day and night. You can also ascend to an observation overpass which provides fantastic views.
