Vilassar de Mar is a seaside resort with a long seafaring tradition. Many of its sons became shipbuilders and captains. Along the seafront are beautiful gardens and palm trees. The town is also known for its ornamental flowers and there is a specialised market where they are sold. The growing of carnations here goes back to 1923. Do not miss the Town Hall where an old Roman milestone is placed at the entrance, or the 15th Century Can Nadal Tower.
