The picturesque, unspoilt, isolated village of Aguero is built against a crag and has two Romanesque churches. The 11th Century San Salvador has impressive door carvings and is flanked by columns with carved mythical beasts. Reached by a track, the Iglesia de Santiago also boasts beautiful carvings and above the door is the Visit of the Three Kings. There are also carvings of monsters and knights.
