The Archaeology Museum is housed in an impressive building that was the seat of government for 300 years until the early 18th Century. The prehistoric exhibits consist mainly of tools and pottery. There is also an interesting Phoenician collection with pieces from mainland Spain, Egypt and other places on the trade routes. Other rooms are devoted to Punic artefacts and Roman statues and coins. There is also a display of Islamic items.
