Baza is a market town with a long history and the highlight of the museum is a copy of the Dama de Baza, a human sculpture of an Iberian goddess. The original was unearthed in the area in 1971 and it is now housed in Madrid`s Archaeology Muesueum. The Baza museum also houses many prehistoric and Roman pieces as well as ceramics and other items from the Moorish era.
