Castano del Robledo is the highest village in the Sierra de Aracena. In the centre is the Baroque Church of Santiago where the 16th Century theologian Arias Montano preached. Some of the houses date from the 16th and 18th centuries. There are several bars. The surrounding countryside is known for its wild flowers, chestnut trees and many varities of birds. Several footpaths lead to other picturesque villages which are just a few miles away.
