This dramatic castle stands on a hill above the village of La Calahorra. Rodrigo de Mendoza visited Italy and on his return built this castle. It was constructed in the early 16th Century by Italian architects and craftsmen. The castle has four round towers and inside is a Renaissance courtyard with a Genoese staircase. There is a dungeon.
