The Church of Sant Ferran had to be rebuilt about one hundred years after it was erected because it was built on sandy terrain near the salt pans and had become unsafe.It was taken down in 1883 and the simple, sandstone church was reconstructed in its present location near a pleasant square with palm trees. Sant Ferran is one of the larger settlements on the island and has plenty of eating places.
