The Church of Santiago de los Caballeros is an impressive, lofty church with three naves. Built in the late 18th Century, it was designed by Antonio Jose Eduardo and this huge building has a Neo-classical facade. The small museum houses a 15th Century green font, said to have been used to baptize local people after the Spanish conquest. Galdar is located below the volcanic cone of La Montana, and it was an important settlement in pre-Hispanic times.
