The Convent of San Francisco is a Franciscan Convent built in medieval times before the port of Garachico was engulfed in 1706 by a volcanic eruption. The convent is now home to a cultural centre which has various events and exhibitions. There is also an interesting museum with displays relating to flora, fauna and the history of Garachico. The building itself, with its old wooden balconies, is of interest.
