Nerva is a traditional, hillside town lying to the east of the Rio Tinto mining area. It has an impressive town hall and opposite stands the Centro de Arte Daniel Vazquez Diaz, a foundation in honour of the local painter Daniel Vazquez Diaz who studied in Paris. He was a friend of Picasso. His work includes frescoes for the La Rabida Monastery and copies of these are on display as well as some of his other work. Exhibitions by other local artists are also held here.
