The El Arch Wildlife Sanctuary, also known as Noah`s Ark, is situated a few hundred metres outside Guadalest. The sanctuary gives refuge to a large number of creatures ranging from small mammals and snakes to bears and lions. As natural a habitat as possible is provided for the animals with the minimum of concrete and wire cages. Information boards explain the past history of the animals and visitors can take a guided tour or look around by themselves.
