Gandia has several miles of fine, sandy beaches, although the city itself lies on the River Serpis. There is an elegant promenade and many good seafood restaurants nearby. The beaches are very popular and have excellent facilties with frst aid posts. The Platja de l`Alhuir extends to the River Vaca and it has a signed nudist beach. Gandia is also known for its water sports, including sailing and windsurfing.
