Girona Cathedral is famous for having the widest nave in Europe. The facade of the cathedral is in the Baroque style, but the remainder of the building is Gothic. The chancel was built in the 14th century and Guillem Bofill added the single nave in 1416. At the back of the altar is a marble throne and in the chancel is a fine silver and enamel altarpiece. The chapels contain many pieces of art.
