Gorafe is a remarkable village surrounded by a spectacular landscape. Over one hundred late Neolithic tombs in the area have been found and they are said to be of five different types. They were not discovered until the mid 19th Century and it was another one hundred years before they were excavated. Around the village are cave dwellings and some of them are used as tourist accommodation.
