Although not finished until the 18th Century, work on the Granada Cathedral began in the 1520s. Diego de Siloe directed the building from 1528 to 1563 and most of the interior is his work, including the magnificent Capila Mayor. The main facade was designed by Alonso Cano of Barcelona and his grave with some of his works can be seen in the cathedral. Do not miss the statues of the Catholic Monarchs carved by Pedro de Mena in 1677.
