Guadix Cathedral took over two hundred years to build and this impressive, sandstone building reflects several periods from the 16th to the 18th Century. The bell tower is of brick, whilst the main facade is Baroque with a plaque of the Assumption and a line of saints. Inside, the Gothic nave leads to a Renaissance apse by Diego de Siloe. The choir stalls have ornate carvings and there is a museum with religious art and silver pieces.
