Moored in the estuary below La Rabida Monastery are replicas of the three caravels that transported Christopher Columbus and his crew to the New World. These are named Santa Maria, Nina and Pinta. Nearby is a museum with an exhibition about the voyage and a display of South American craft. In the park are South American plants as well as an ampitheatre where performances from South America are sometimes held.
