The Jandia Peninsula is surrounded by miles of beautiful beaches, attractive to surfers. Towards the southern tip are rockier shores and at the end of the road is a lighthouse, whilst the village of Puerto del la Cruz has a couple of restaurants. Inland are jagged, rugged mountain peaks and part of the peninsula is a conservation area. Monte Jandia, at 2,648 feet, is the highest point on Fuerteventura Island.
