This large botanic garden in the Guiniguada ravine is a lovely place for a stroll. It was opened in the 1950s by Swedish botanist Eric Sventenius. The garden is laid out in terraces with plants from all the Canary Islands. There are species of Canary palm and trees of the laurel forest that once covered the island. You can see a pine wood and two thousand varities of cactus and succulents from all over the world. An exhibition centre houses audio-visual and interactive exhibits.
