Inside the splendid La Catuja Monastery is a magnificent church containing multicoloured marble. The construction of the monastery started in the early 16th Century, but it took over three hundred years to build and is a mixture of styles. It is now a Site of Cultural Interest. The cloister is 17th Century whilst the grey marble facade was built in the 18th Century. The baroque sacristy is extremely impressive with its marble plinths, golden capitals and beautiful cupola.
