La Guancha is one of the most important archaeological sites on Gran Canaria. It was discovered in the 1930s and this Guanche burial ground consists of an impressive drystone structure with rows of tombs surrounded by a wall. Situated on the north coast of the island, it faces the heights of Tenerife. Nearby are modern houses and below the site is a beach and a promenade.
