The Military Museum is housed in the old Cala Corb barracks in the main square which was the military parade ground. The town was established by the British in 1771 and its original name was Georgetown after George 111. Around the square are Georgian houses with sash windows. Located opposite the town hall with its clock tower, the museum contains a collection of weapons, uniforms, flags, maps and 18th Century English furniture.
